Hello from West Virginia! Newbie Here!

I read up on it...I soaked the chicks bottoms in warm water for several minutes then used a cotton ball to gently remove it. With the chick I lost, the pasty butt returned full force the next day. I repeated the soaking, then the next day after that, I noticed her laying by the food dish and one of the other chicks was standing on top of her. I picked her up and held her for a few minutes and her breathing seemed labored. I was worried, but had to take my son to the doctor, and when I returned, she was gone...

. The other chick that had it, seems to be the "runt" of the flock...she had one more episode of it and as of this morning it has not returned. It's nerve wracking to be so inexperienced and always wondering if your doing the right thing! So thankful for all the support! I'm feeding them all starter/grower feed by DuMOR. I read about the apple cider vinegar in the water, but my local grocery store does not carry organic. Any suggestions to keep it from happening again or to prevent my other babies from getting it would be greatly appreciated!
