(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Had bantams in middle school, sadly my Dad's run wasn't very safe and it became the most popular diner for all racoons. 10 years later I'm going about it a lot better thanks to BYC and coop designs (thanks All)
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
14 pullets? 2 roos so far. They're only 4 weeks old (yesterday)
(3) What breeds do you have?
We 7 BR (2 are Roos), 5 ee, 2 RIR from Welp then 1 WL and 1 BL from the local feed store. Planning to get some Marans next year so I have all the colors
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Google-ing coop designs, breeds, eggs... you name it!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
ANIMALS. We have 8 horses 1 is 1 month old and 1 is 2 months old. Love riding, and DH has 6? cows that we work the horses on and sell calfs at fall market. I have the most loving Blue Heeler boy... not the best behaived but gives wonderfull puppy hugs
. It has been a while but I also like country western dancing and I scrapbook everything!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I came from a pretty small family and married a HUGE ONE! I had one set of cousins... married into 6 aunts...20+ cousins(and over 1/2 of them have kiddos!) No kids of our own yet, just got married 11 months ago and waiting a bit. Living on a nice 3.5 acre "ranch" that we just bought and getting to know home owernership with our fuzzy and featherd family. I also love to watch my DH work with the horses, he's just like magic! He started riding our 3 yr old stud horse (16.1 hands b/w paint) and never had him buck, bow, hop or twist! Just went slow and with in 15 minutes riding down the road like it was old news! So AMAZING.
And I guess that is about it!
