Hello!
I have been lurking awhile and I thought I had better come out of hiding! My name is Jody. I had chickens many moons ago and am ready to raise them again!
I plan on building a coop and attatching 2 yards. One side will "clean up" while the other is being used. I will rotate the birds every few weeks. I have an opportunity to purchase some inexpensive dog kennel panels. They are chain link, 10x10x6.

I have a question: Are the holes too big in the chain link for the chicken yard?

I plan on covering the tops of both of the yards since we have several types of winged and 4 legged predators here. We live in the woods so birds, rodents, racoons, snakes, you name it, share our living space.

I would appreciate any feedback and/or opinions.

Thanks so much! I look forward to hearing from any/all of you!

Hi and :welcome from Ohio. So glad you joined. Yes the holes are too big. You will want to add a row of wire around the bottom of the run and bury some about 12" to keep predators from digging under. :thumbsup

Thanks for the welcome!
I saw a pic or 2 of some coops with chain link. I thought about using some but then questioned it.

Thanks for the responses. I have gotten several here and in another thread. Everyone is so helpful!
