This is my 3rd or 4th year with chickens so im still learning. I apologize in advance for the repetitive questions. I may or may not respond to an old thread if its something im looking up. I promise to use the search function as to not clutter up the boards.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Im still a novice i think. Our first flock was in the spring of 2017. All bought from the local Co-op. They did GREAT! We had 2 Golden Comets, 2 Amerecaunas, and 2 Speckled Sussex. The Ameri's were a little skiddish but the GC and SS were sweethearts. Unfortunately, a fox got them all in 2 nights. last year
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have one black and one white Cochin, a barnyard mix EE, some sort of bantam (i think), An Amerecauna roo and Favorolle roo. ..If anyone can guess the smaller one, id be greatful! So 6 older ones....I may or may not have went to TSC yesterday and bought another Amerecauna and mystery bantam, a Black Austrolop and Golden Comet.....maybe
.....and we may or may not have a few eggs in the incubator as well. (Ayam Cemani and Black Copper Maran)
(3) What breeds do you have?

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Oh My! what is there not to like? Free eggs and meat (kinda), all the personalities they have and most of all, Seeing my kids take part in the care of them. Im sure there will be pics posted of it all. My youngest loves her some fluffy chickens. She has taken claim to the Cochins and any other uber fluffy ones we get.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, Hunting, pretty much anything outdoors. On the not so sunny days and evenings..i'll admit, I love me some Destiny 2 on the PS4.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Married with 2 DDs, a 10 year old Pit that thinks hes a lapdog and 3 turtles
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Good ol DuckDuckGo! (i dont trust Google)... i had a question about a few things and this community seemed to have an answer for it all! So why not join!
