Well I've lurked long enough, and thought I'd finally join!
We've been raising chickens going on 5 yrs now and we have 3 girls, ages 13, 9 and 7 that are involved in 4-H poultry. We just got in a big order of chicks this past Monday and are having lots of fun with them. We ordered 47 birds, but 10 were DOA and we lost 7 more over the first 48 hours. The rest are healthy, and we are expecting a replacement order of another 25 next Monday!
These are in addition to our current flock of 17, which consists of a large variety and assortment. They include 1 BR, 1 Buttercup, 1 SLW, 1 GLW, 3 EE's, 1 RIR, 1 Buff Brahma Banty, 1 Moderm Game Black Banty, 1 WLR Cornish Banty, 2 blue Japanese Banty's, 3 black Japanese Banty's and 1 black Japanese Roo!
Well that's us in a nutshell! Hope to be posting often! I do have a question on the breed ID of some of our chicks, so off to that section.
