Hi! I am Tina :) I live in Oak Harbor, WA where I am the proud owner of 6 chickens, two I have had for a year now, my sweet little Bantams and 4 new silver laced wyandotte which are about 3 months old now. Sadly we are only allowed hens in town and it appears that we have two roos in the mix. My Buff Bantam is sitting on two eggs that Grandpa gave my daughter just in case.. yesterday we did the candling method and could see we have fertile eggs with about two weeks left. I am mom of three who someday dreams of a larger piece of property that I can have many more chickens at! Boyfriend and I are in the middle of making a larger coop for the girls (and boys).

Greetings from Kansas, Tina, and

! Pleased you joined us! Not sure how big Whidbey Island is but I know I've welcomed someone else from there before...so with you there are least two chicken keepers residing there! Good luck to you and your coop construction and your chickens!

Thanks Red! Love the Chocolate Lab! So since I am a geek when it comes to research..

Whidbey Island is the largest of nine islands located in Island County, Washington, in the United States. Whidbey is about 30 miles north of Seattle, and lies between the Olympic Peninsula and the I-5 corridor of western Washington. The island forms the northern boundary of Puget Sound. It is home to Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. Whidbey Island is home to 58,211 residents. An estimated 29,000 of Whidbey Islanders live in rural locations. Whidbey Island is approximately 35 miles long (from the extreme north to extreme south, and 1.5 to 12 miles wide, with 168.67 square miles making it the 40th largest island in the United States. It is ranked as the fourth longest and fourth largest island in the contiguous United States, behind Padre Island, Texas; Long Island; and Isle Royale, Michigan. In the state of Washington, it is the largest island, followed by Orcas Island.

And since we have a large rural population, I am sure you will see few more of us on here!
