(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am somewhat new to chickens. I got chicks about a year ago.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 7 currently.

(3) What breeds do you have?
6 barred rock and one silky

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I don’t know really. I love having them and seeing their funny little jiggle run when you bring them treats! I love watching my kids take care of them and love them. Fresh eggs are pretty nice too

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I’m an artist and I love doing anything artsy/crafty. I love doing outdoorsy things (swimming, hiking, off-roading etc) playing paintball, cooking, and of course spending time with my family.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am a stay at home mom to 5 kids ranging from 2 months to 15 years. We have 2 dogs. One German Rottweiler that’s under a year and a half and a pit/black lab mix that’s about 3 now. I’m originally a big city girl (born and raised) but prefer having a little farm for our home much more!

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found it on FB originally. I didn’t realize there was also a website community like this. I joined the FB group around the time I got my chickens originally. My boyfriend sent me a link to the website when we were talking about our broody chicken (speaking of which if anyone in WI has fertilized eggs, I’m interested. We don’t have any Roos but I’d like to help my girl be a mama)
