I've been a lurker for awhile but finally decided to join today.

I had chickens when I was a kid and just 2 yrs ago, decided to get back into it. I currently have 3 RIR hens, 1 Red Leghorn hen, 2 second generation Red sex-link hens and I just got a new Ameraucana Roo.

Plus, I created a homemade incubator out of a styrofoam cooler and I'm at day 5. Tried candling them yesterday but my light wasn't bright enough to see much of anything. I'm going to create a new light set up and candle them again in a couple of days. Keeping my fingers crossed as this is my first time incubating eggs. I have a couple Ameraucana, a Maran, RIR, a Barred and a couple mixed breed eggs in the bator. 11 in all.

I would like to expand my flock with new birds because being an artist... I love a lot of color and texture. My current 'wants' are more Ameraucanas, Orpington, Austrolorp, Brahma, Delaware, Dominique, Faverolles, Java, Langshan, Plymouth Rock, Silkie, Sussex and Wyandotte. (that's just off the top of my head tho. LOL)

We just built a new coop but at the rate I'm dreaming, I may need a barn soon.
