Hi there! My husband and I have recently "adopted" 4 girls from our neighbor. They are, as we've been told, either Red Sussex or Rhode Island Reds, although I think they might be mixed breeds. We are very excited and happy to have them as part of our family. We got them on last Tuesday night and the very next day we had eggs! We were so excited because we were told they may not lay right away. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and that I hope some of you will pardon me still being a novice at this chicken stuff. 9. Hi Terbear!
I'm just up the interstate from you in King William County. I'm picking up my first chickens tomorrow...three Production Reds! I hope you're enjoying your chickens and eggs. It's nice to know there is someone on here from the "neighborhood."
