I've been lurking around these forums for a couple of weeks now, and learning a great deal. I have plans to start a small flock this summer of about 6 - 8 hens, and living in wisconsin im thinking of a mix of BPR's and RIR hens for their hardiness to colder climates during the winter, and the fact that they're great layers.
I don't have the birds yet, i wanted to wait until after i built their coop, and setup the brooding area as we're going to raise them from chicks. Planning on starting the project of building this coop this weekend, and have had some great ideas added to my own plans from this site! Can't wait to get started, i'll definately post some pictures as i progress with it
