Hello Backyard Chickens People,
My husband and I are retired and have a small homestead in western North Carolina.
We raised some Barred Rock chicks from Cackle hatchery last April and have one roo plus eight hens, one of which just hatched some beautiful chicks about two and a half weeks ago.
Like many people I’m sure, we first became seriously interested in raising chickens during the pandemic. We grow a lot of our own vegetables too and it’s nice to get eggs from your own backyard instead of having to go all the way into town.
Every time I’ve had a question, this wonderful community of helpful people always seems to have an answer. I’ve been reading your forums for about a year, and finally decided to join since I do have questions.
