Hello! I just found out that I can legally have chickens on my property in Woodburn, IN a couple weeks ago. I am still in research mode because we recently moved here, I am in an accelerated grad school program and have a FT job. A week ago, I drove about 3 hours one way to the closest major hatchery for their backyard chicken class. I learned so much and am so glad I took the time to go. My husband is being relatively supportive. With being busy, I probably won't be able to get everything done that needs done for this new adventure for a couple months. I'm aiming for late summer to order chicks so they will be ready to lay in early spring (depending on the weather of course- in Indiana, nothing is certain).
I look forward continuing to obsess about chickens in my spare time and talking to others about their flocks
