Hello! I'm so excited to have finally registered on this site. It's been a wealth of information since I got my first chicks about 8 weeks ago.
Obviously, as you can tell from my user name, my name is Amy and I live in the beautiful state of West Virginia. I am blessed to be the mother of 2 amazing boys (ages 13 and 22.) I have 2 horses (Charlie and Magic) and now 6 chickens. I adopted 3 chicks (Nugget, Igor, and Betsy) from my step-daughter about 2 months ago when something massacred her ducks and she decided she was done trying to raise birds. I honestly never really thought I wanted chickens, but I have become obsessed with these things. Lol In fact, I went about 4 weeks ago and bought 3 more chicks (Buffy, Mumble, and Silkie chick...yeah I know it's not very original, but none of the other names we've tried seem to stick...we always go back to silkie chick) - giving me a total of 6.
Our hobbies (when we have time for a hobby) include dirt track racing and bluegrass festivals. We're hillbillies at heart. Lol
