Hello. Geneteics question here.

I think you will get something similar to my hen, Busy, in feather pattern and color.

Beautiful example! Yes, I would expect the chicks to look quite similar to that hen in feather coloring and pattern.

Being half Silkie, of course they will probably show a crest on the head, feathered feet, 5th toe, and at least some should have beards.

As far as I know, my silkie is a true splash. She is a 3rd generation pure bred silkie. (I think I said said that right) meaning that her parents were full silkie, her grandparents were full silkie and her great grandparents were (pretty sure) full silkie. I personally haven't breed her yet. This will be her first offspring. She's about a year and a half old, so I don't have her precious chicks to base anything off of to see what she throws. I know as a chick, she was the prettiest solid blue/grey color and as shes gotten older, the dark spots throughout her feathers have gotten darker. One thing I do notice that's different is that my black roo and my partridge silkie both had blue ears, whereas she has black ears. I don't know if they tells you anything really.
I don't think that tells me much more about what color genes she is likely to have, because Silkies come in so many colors that can be mixed together, but it's nice that you know her history that well!

Do you possibly have any pictures of her as a chick ?
I have tons of pictures of her🤣 she was a "left behind egg" from a broody who gave up at two weeks. I took the egg inside, hatched it myself, and raised her indoors.
Busy has wyandotte, but does not have silkie in her background. I was just trying to give you a reference for the color and feather pattern.

@NatJ @Zenmonkey This is the variety I got from this pairing 😅 All 6 eggs hatched with no issues! The 6th egg to hatch was the one that ended up being solid black. Maybe a little grey in it. I know they'll look completely different as they get older, but does this teach you anything about their parents genes ? All 6 have very feathered feet and all 6 have 5 toes. This shocked me because my Wyandotte roo doesnt have feathered feet or 5 toes. So I assume that came from their silkie mom ? I do see the pattering on a few of them that closely resembles the wyandotte patterns, but instead of being black with white striped pattern, its like a golden / reddish one. (#2) Its super pretty. And also on (#6) I see the same pattern, but its not as obvious. Then (#1) and (#5) look very similar but (#1) has the black dot on its head and (#5) doesnt. Then comes (#3) and I have no idea what it looks like. Never had one to look like this 😅 and to clarify, I am 100% positive that these came from my silkie hen and wyandotte roo. I only have 1 roo and the only hen laying in the pen was my silkie. So there was no chance of a mix up. The others in that pen are SLW pullets and they lay completely different color eggs but they weren't even laying yet.
