hello guys! i am new between you. i have a incubator and fertile eggs of chicken set before 23 days.

i started that hobby 3 november 2018. at that time i bought 6 chicks and then 2nd week another 6, but after 1 week more 1 died of first group at that time i was not aware about the disease and i simply give him panadol and betnisol tablet but he didnt survive. and then december 5 i bought 21 chicks and after three weeks 13 died one by one, then i studied on the net what sort of that disease. i found that symptoms of new castle. and i went to the local store to buy the medicine and give them a dose but not effected as i thought then 2 more big chicks died. then i experiment the human medicine on chicks Levofexacin is great effect on upper respiratory infections and i gave them this medicine and i astonished the chicks recover rapidly within 3 days. and now i have a 16 big chicks, 2 adult chicken 1 rooster and new chicks are 11. that is the story ... lol

now i am trying to buy Brahama chicks but that breed it too much costly here.1 chick price is 30 dollars. what is the rate at your side of Brahama chick.
About $3.00 each. It varies a bit; you can check this on the net
A grown rooster brings about $5.00 at the local poultry auction; up to ten for a hen.

I've been a bird nut since I was 14 years old (now 64). At one time or another I've owned many different kinds of birds: macaws, budgies, parakeets, finches, chickens, ducks, geese, etc.
Now I have serama bantams, midget turkeys, Japanese quail, favorelle chickens, a few long tails chicken (phoenix and Yokohama), polish chickens, some cross breeds. Serama are my favorite. Some of which are in the house. My wife is kind hearted and knows that my health is getting worse. In the house means I am better able to care for my little favorites. The serama in the house are 10 ounces or less-very small.

It is hard to get antibiotics here without a veterinarian's prescription; and that costs more than I can afford. I am quite interested in Levofexacin. I do not know if I can get it, but can you tell me the dosage that you used with your chicks?

The last two days have been good. Finally, my midget turkeys laid an egg. And my tiny serama in the kitchen have proven to be fertile; six out of eight eggs have an embryo developing into a chick. I am quite excited about this in that I have been trying for several years to get miniature serama that were fertile. Commonly chickens under 10 ounces are sterile. I now have two under 10 ounces and are fertile. I also have a third serama pullet that weighs only 5 ounces. I'm hoping she will also prove to be fertile.

i didnt see tiny bird like that. thats amazing. levoflxacin is broad spectrum antibiotic i think it is third generation medicine. i usually give dose to a 1 week older chick. 1/4 tablet because the tablet power in mgs is 250 mg. when we do 4 piece it is 62.5 mg it is right if chick is above 4 week or so on i give dose half tablet and follows by 3 to 5 days. it is great effect in C.R.D and newcastle. beause the symptoms is just like in initial stages.

Thank you for this information. I will check it out as soon as possible.

i got 2 brahama chicks in 60 dollars yesterday. i will send you pics very soon.

$60!!!! WOW! Last summer they were selling here for 5-10 dollars a piece for breeder age birds.

Below is a picture of my latest success. It is my pair of serama; both under 9 ounces. The hen is brooding six fertile eggs that are developing in a cereal bowl with a plastic flower pot with a hole cut in it. It has taken several years to achieve a fertile pair under the 10 ounce mark with my breeding program. This makes me quite happy.

Do you have serama bantams in Pakistan? If so, how much do they sell for? Prices here are low to in the many hundreds of dollars apiece depending on size and quality.
