Hello everyone! Nice to meet you all! I just thought I'd go ahead and post this introduction thread
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Hmm, yes and no? So I've always been around chickens. Growing up my relatives and family friends all had large and healthy flocks. We had a few ourselves but honestly I have no idea what happened to them. I just remember one day not having them. This is my first time trying to raise my own little flock. I really just want them as pets, if I'm being totally honest.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I currently have 5 chicks.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I believe 4 are Welsummer and the other one is a little tan colored one, I'm not sure what she is
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Chicks are so cute and there is just something satisfying about watching them go through their stages of growth. I remember loving my dear hens so much. I enjoyed throwing them feed, watching them drink, and laughing at the silly noises they'd make. I'm hoping to have an established flock by the time I have my own children so they can make wonderful memories as well
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy playing video games, gardening, animal care (I have 11 pets total) and reading medical journals.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a fairly small family, consisting of my mom, dad, and 2 brothers. As for pets, I have 3 dogs, 3 geckos, a cat, rabbits, a snake, and a guinea pig! I love my family to death
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I've been finding solutions to problems on here for a long time! I figured I might as well get to know the community as well!
