(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I’ve been raising chickens for about a year now and brand new to ducks!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
13 chickens, 4 ducks
(3) What breeds do you have?
Chickens: Sapphire Gem, Barred Rock, Welsummer, Black Sex Link, Easter Egger, ISA Brown, Black Australorp, Olive Egger, Barnevelder, Splash Maran
Ducks: Pekin, Welsh Harleqin
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
They are just so cute! Also it’s super rewarding.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Home improvement, horseback riding, gardening, homesteading, attending concerts, video games
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I work as a recruiter. Along with the birds, I have two dogs (border collie annd labradoodle) and two cats.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC from endless google questions. I would say I’ve been a lurker of BYC for about 2 years. I did a lot of studying on this forum before getting chickens and still visit often, so finally decided to make an account.
