from northern california. I love silkies too. I had a couple, and they were all living proof that they are prone to disease, mostly fatal. So be careful and

that they all end up okay.

Greetings from Maine. I have silkies for the first time too. Mine are almost 5 months old. They are great and easy to raise. Pretty friendly too. They are my favorite out of all the chickens I have. They are very mild tempered.
