I am in East Texas, and yes its hot! I have 23 egg laying chickens and trying to raise some guinea keets from a hatchery but not having any success. I have lost half of them in 5 days. They are eating turkey starter and tomorrow morning I am heading out to get the turkey starter with amprolium. Haven't heard about this feed until today and I just read someone's post on BYC a few minutes ago and he mentioned this also. This is my first go at raising guineas and may be my last. As with all of you, I do not like losing any of my animals and this has really been overwhelming. I look forward to all the discussions on BYC! you might want to check out "Other Backyard Poultry" thread on BYC it includes, ducks, geese, guineas - if you post there someone may know a lot more about guineas
