Hello! I am a newbie.

One of my favorite books for a newbie was Keep Chickens . It's not as complete as many but was reassuring, entertaining, and answered a lot of the "even dummer" questions than those covered in the Backyard Chickens for Dummies book.

For example:
You don't need a rooster. Really. Chickens lay eggs without a rooster in sight. In fact, in many cities, you cannot have a rooster.

Anyways - you've come to the right place. Lots of great info here. I'm a newbie too - just got my first three chickens this summer, and now I'm getting chicks tomorrow!

Did anyone warn you, chickens are addictive?
