I am an English as a Second Language teacher and my classes just successfully hatched six little chicks! I am planning to keep the chickens and am setting up a space for them. We have used this website as a reference many times over the past two months as we prepared for our chicks!

PLEASE keep dogs and chicks far apart. Most dogs consider them squeaky toys, as soon as they stop cheeping (dead) they run and grab another one. Terriers especially have a very high prey drive and like to shake what they catch to break it's neck.

People have even had little Chihuahuas & doxies massacre their whole flock. I've never hear of a chick killing a dog.
