and I live in West Bend, WI in a historical log cabin with my husband and three dogs and a cat. I own and show an AQHA mare however she is boarded. We are new to chickens and are in the process of preparing our coop/run. We are excited and nervous, but ready for our venture. Looking for egg layers that will also be pets. Hope to maintain 6-8 hens but just in case will have room for more. Look forward to learning as much as I possibly can. this is an awesome site.

Good luck with getting chickens! We have sex link hens, if you're looking for good layers. The first couple we got didn't even seem to molt or stop laying in winter.
