Hello, I am new here

:welcome
Yes they will lay eggs while on feather fixer.
During molt I also give protein boost with canned mackerel, cat food, canned salmon, and other meats.
Scrambled eggs are good for the amino acids.

If I have a light feeling hen I take extra measures to boost the protein.

Feather fixer is 18% while layena is 16% protein. Game bird is higher in protein so theoretically cash also be added in.
I say theoretically since I haven't tried it

One thing I have seen with my own eyes is mice chewing feathers on sleeping birds. Something to watch out for.

Yes game bird is about 20% and it was a 50 pound bag for the same price as 40 pound bag of feather fixer. So, I figured it would give it a try. Interesting about mice. It is possible that there was a mite issue. I checked several times at night and never saw anything crawling. I just last week treated the whole flock with ivermectin pour on drops. And in my other post about my sick chicken someone mentioned she has scaly leg mites. I was surprised by this!
