I was given a momma frizzle hen and her 12 baby chicks. I keep them in a stall in my barn at night and put up a fenced run for them to scratch around in during the day. My occupation is running a year around Christmas store. I will need to rehome about 6 roosters as I wouldnt want to breed frizzle with frizzle. I will post some pictures. I am sort of confused as to a few of them to see if they are hens or roosters.

Welcome to BYC! They are all so adorable. I think you have one frizzle female and 2 frizzle males. I believe your smooths are females, but without knowing their age, I wouldn't swear to it.

The uneven, rusty colored shoulder patches are a male-specific trait.

They are nice looking boys, so I hope you don't have any trouble rehoming them.

We can give you some guesses here, but there are a lot of others skilled at gendering chickens in the Breed & Gender Forum if you want to post there as well.

I am wondering about the smooth I posted. If it might be a hen?
