Hello! I have incubating questions (including about an incubator)

First question: is this incubator good/safe to use? I will be hatching turkey eggs now but hopefully others in the future.
Sorry for the dark pics if you want better ones i can get it :)

I haven’t used that type of incubator or incubated turkey eggs but maybe can help with general incubator help.

You’ll want to get it up and running in a location with stable temps and try to get an idea how it holds temperature and humidity.

I use a govee that tracks those abs sends the data to my phone so I can keep tabs on things but any calibrated thermometer & hygrometer will do. If you end up with temperature fluctuations you want to try and see if they stay within an acceptable range & avoid making too many adjustments during incubation.

agreed, anything can work, get a good secondary thermometer, set it up and run it for a few days until you get familiar with it .. give it a 'trial run' so you can have it all ironed out before you just drop eggs in and go for it ..

If it doesn’t have a fan it is a “still air incubator “ and has different temp requirements due to the air temperatures layering. The thermometer at embryo level reads different than the one on the floor. look up still air incubation instructions if there is no fan.

Ok cool. Well im gonna make sure that the wires arent going to catch fire before i test run it

Got it that makes sense :)

Ok i might just try to find the whole instruction thing online somewhere

Ok so is there a temp and humidity level it should be?
I'm beginning to think letting the hen hatch the eggs would be easier

You would have to look up the specific temp & humidity for turkeys.

There is a real learning curve to incubation especially with finicky incubators.

Definitely easier if mama birds do the work😂

Ah ok :)

Well i haven't had much luck as yet, the first egg she laid we ate and the second egg she hid 🙄

Tomorrow i will lock her down and try some things to see if she will hatch them herself...
Are there any signs i should look for to see if she will brood the eggs herself, or is it the same as with chickens?
