Hello I just joined

Hello to everyone. I am new to this. We have our first chickens ever. I am so enjoying them. They just started laying eggs. But 3 times now I have found eggs on the ground without a shell. Does anyone know what I can do about this? Thanks. Appreciate any help.

Welcome to BYC. I recommend you add crushed oyster shell to their diet.

Thank you. I will do it. I have 2 Rhode Island Red Roosters 11 Rhode Island Hens and 1 Bantam rooster

Make sure they have access to oyster shells and grit

And adding oyster shell well definately help with the shell-less egg problem...

from Mn! I find I have to keep refreshing the oyster shell as they seem to pick a size they like and won't eat the rest.

From Georgia. Thanks for all the welcomes. I have 13 rhode island reds and 1 bantam rosecomb. I also have 2 goats, 4 dogs and 3 cats. I never knew that chickens were so much fun. I still have so much to learn but i will
