Hi. I have 6 rhode island red hens. They free range during the day. At night we go 'chicken chunkin', which is how we describe picking the hens off of the top of the coop and putting them in for the night. My hens love me, and think I'm the roo. Most lay in the nesting boxes, but one of them is dropping her eggs in random places. She lays out in the open in the yard, or on the floor of the coop. (Silly chicken.) I've recently found that some of them are climbing up into the rabbit hutch, and laying in there. The rabbits are 'free range', as they looked so sad in their hutch and playpen. plus they were great escape artists. They come home to eat and drink and hang out in the morning and evening.
I have a Youtube channel with some videos of them. http://www.youtube.com/user/HappyHoney41?feature=mhee
