I don't know much about breeds, but I do agree he isn't likely a close relative to a pure silkie...but isn't it possible...at all...that he may have silkie genes in there somewhere? He has feathered feet.

He has a single comb, red skin, likely four toes, and no beard or crest. I'll classify him as a Cochin mix.
But you are correct, he could possibly have a Silkie as a distant relative.
