Hello, just want to introduce myself, my name is Dawn and I'm from Maryland! I'm fairly new to raising chickens (got them in August). I have 4 black Silkies (1 rooster 3 hens) they were given to us by a friend who could no longer take care of them. They are about 8 months old and we just had 9 babies hatch in December but only 5 made it! I'm excited to learn some new things from this group!

Yes, it is a challenge, we brought the babies inside to keep them warm and also because I think the adults (not sure if the rooster or one of the hens) must have killed 4 of them!
