Hello im Khalida, or Kali, and here is my introduction thread!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new to chickens but i have been doing a lot of research before bringing them home. Im hoping to get some baby chicks in april/may, possibly closer to June.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
none at the moment, Im looking forward to a flock of around 6
(3) What breeds do you have?
looking forward to getting buff orpingtons, speckled sussex, and barred rocks, perhaps a light or buff brahma or two
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love the idea of being apart of the process of your own food production, along with them just being a really awesome pet to own!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Im an artist, exotic pet enthusiast, and a gardener. ^..^
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Im 28, i have a cat named butterscotch at the moment, I just moved from utah to Missouri. I used to own a plethora of more exotic pets, unfortunately havent been able to keep a lot due to my physical health, Im doing better and looking forward to a nice hobby. I do have my partner who can help with the chickens if needed.
