We have had small flocks of chickens off and on for 13 years. My present flock is a Canadian heritage breed, the Partridge Chantecleer. Two roosters and nine pullets who should lay their first eggs any day now.
My husband and I have an acreage, and besides the chickens we have a German Shepherd and two cats. Our wonderful children are off to university, so my extra love goes to the animals.
Gotta fuss over something!
We homeschooled our kids, really enjoyed it, and try to keep an atmosphere of learning in our house. Which is how I ended up on BYC. I just kept looking for chicken information, and always found my way to the BYC.
