I moved out to my uncle's farm in May and I've been taking care of his flock since then. He has given me permission to raise my own chickens for profit so here I go...

Right now I have 15.

5 are fat old hens, but very nice.
4 bantam roosters, 6 bantam hens, 1 surviving wild chick of seven.

I have an incubator that holds 40 eggs, and 4 chicks I've hatched, and 17 White Leghorn shipping Wednesday.

Hello again.

Welcome to BYC! :frow
We are glad you joined.
This video should help you find your way around this site, enjoy!

Are you planning on raising birds for egg production alone? Seems you might have the capacity to do some meat birds as well. Not sure where you live, but here in New England, fresh organically free ranged chickens are worth quite a bit.... the eggs in stores range from 4 to 8 bucks a dozen.
The meat.... expensive as steak.
Good luck. Do your homework and you will be rewarded handsomely.

Oh and welcome.

I'm going to hatch as many as I can and sell as many live birds as I can, trying to get up to 100 is my goal for the season.
