(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, I'm new to chickens! We've wanted chickens for a couple of years and finally decided to go ahead and get them! We got ours a couple of days ago. My kids (13, 11, 8 years old) have been attending barn school for a couple weeks during summer vacation for the last 4 years. They have always loved the chickens. This year they took a new course called "I Love Chickens" where they took care of a chicken for the week. We had the option to purchase them at the end. So, needless to say, we did!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 3 chickens right now.
(3) What breeds do you have?
The breeds we have are:
Dominique, Wellsummer, and Golden Laced Wyandotte
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
While doing research on building a chicken coop!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love planting flowers, vacationing, cruises, and nature.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My family is my husband, son, two daughters, and me! I'm a special education teacher. I live in upstate New York but my heart is in Florida!
