Hello! I'm new on this website and only on my first flock. They are already two months old, but I'm getting two new chicks and I had a question for anybody who's experienced, I was thinking about putting the new chicks (I don't have them yet but will in a few days) with the adults, so it's like they are raising them. I wanted somebody's opinion on this. Any ideas?

I wouldn't put them in yet then, just my opinion. The older chicks will knock them over and stand on them. They'll need heat too and your older chicks should be weaned off heat at this point
Thanks for the info! I'll probably put a heat lamp in the coop too, the older/adult chickens would probably like it too!

I'd think twice about using a heat lamp for your older girls. Heat lamps in coops always scare me...I've heard too many stories about coop fires and losing entire flocks that way. Your older girls shouldn't need supplemental heat by 2 months of age.

Oh wow, thanks for telling me! I'll think more about this, but what SHOULD I do so the chicks are welcomed into the flock?
