Hello, I'm new to this forum and am not on Social Media, but thought I'd give this a try.
My husband, son and I have had chickens before but that was a long time ago. During that time, I was a working mom and didn't pay that much attention to the chickens except for gathering and enjoying their eggs. Years later, and now retired, I have enjoyed raising chicks and we have downsized our flock from 23 to 15. Our coop and run is set up to hold as many as 20 adults but we prefer a smaller flock. We currently have 9 Americanas and 2 Easter Eggers and 4 Olive Eggers. They just started laying early March and have provided a beautiful basket of colors.
This time around, I spend a lot more time getting to know each bird and their personalities and especially caring for our injured hen. I will post more on that injury on the forum area, as I am seeking some answers the best care for her, which prompted me to sign up on this forum.
