Hi! I'm a young artist who grew up helping my mom raise chickens (we've had several flocks before our current ones) and loves them, but I never thought of getting serious until a couple days ago. My mom unfortunately is unable to take care of the chickens anymore and my father isn't really that attentive to them, so they've been living kind of poorly, and I want to finally get off my lazy butt and change that, so that's why I came to this website for help and information.

I'm not sure how many chickens I have, but we used to have a large flock of brown leghorns (now about seven hens not including the leghorn rooster), and we recently got eight new hens of different breeds who I fell in love with immediately. We also have a handsome, amazing rooster who randomly showed up one day (probably dumped by someone, poor thing) and took charge over our flock in about a day and made himself at home!

None of the leghorns are named except for the rooster (Winston) since they all look like clones. Our mysterious hybrid rooster's named is Yuno (a character from Black Clover), and he looks to be a black australorp crossed with something else as he has a rose comb. As for our new hens, we have...

New Hampshire Red - Rosie (Yuno's favourite :p )
Rhode Island Red - Galeena
White leghorn - Guinevere, nicknamed Gwinnie
2 Black Austraulorps - Jade and Violet (Jade has a gimpy leg and is timid, but seems to be doing fine)
Buff Orpington - Mable
Easter Egger - Edith
Brahma - Vivian

Welcome!! I also like to draw! Only simple sketches though :)

I wish I could do digital art! Only pencil sketches and sometimes watercolor for now though. I would love to see some of your art if you do not mind! Painting is my weakness!

I have a currently open thread on some of my artwork for other BYC members: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/drawing-your-photos-2.1493877/
You have really nice sketches, I can't do chickens that well but you're really good at it :) I don't usually draw animals other than ponies but I'll show you a couple of pics I have done. I usually prefer an anime/cartoony style but will sometimes experiment with realism :) I really want to draw the members of our new flock though as each one has her own unique personality and beauty.
