(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? not very new, we inherited some when we bought our house 8 years ago and have had others over the years, just got 6 new ones in april.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 2 4-year old black copper marans, 2 4-month old white leghorns, 3 4-month old isa browns and one 4-month old we're having trouble identifying
(3) What breeds do you have? see above.
this is the one i'm having trouble with identifying, my husband picked her up without me and forgot the name of the breed by the time he got home. she was dark as a chick. i thought maybe a production blue but they seem to only have red heads. or a blue lace red wyandotte but the blue is on the inside not the edges. she's been laying little cream colored eggs. help!
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? they all run to me whenever i go out to check on them, and the eggs are a bonus
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? reading, writing, watching asian dramas and listening to music
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. i've been married for 21 years, have a 13 year old shih tzu/min pin mix and a 12 year old shih tzu/chihuahua mix and i work for a regional airline in the planning department.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
found on google while trying to find a place i can hopefully get some help identifying my one hen and any tips and pointers for raising a healthy flock
