Hi all ~ it seems that I previously wrongly replied rather than posted! So clearly, I'm new! We're in Oceanside, California; started a flock last year for Mothers Day, with four week-olds from the feed store. They have done so well, we decided to add to the flock. Thought it was going well, although there is a definite caste system. The pullets know not to go near the food if the hens are within eyesight. Our newest layer has caused an uproar in the nesting boxes. The hens go crazy and try to peck her out of the box, I'm hoping this will subside soon. Poor Lucy is the middle child, the others are 2-4 weeks younger. And I have a sick pullet, which I've posted about. Seems I'm in the thick of it now, so especially appreciate the forum!
