I did a lot of research on the Orloffs. Really cool looking birds. But in my queries and website searches found a lot of breeders discontinuing their breeding programs because of delicate chicks, health issues, or chickens sitting on their haunches (whatever that means?) The European photos of Orloffs are exceptionally gorgeous and large with very full white muffs and beards but everything I saw in the USA were less robust (size and fullness of feathers) in comparison. Sandhill Preservation said the second year of laying dropped considerably and I was looking for more consistent egg laying at the time I was researching. I liked the temperament reports on the breed but was disappointed in their appearance, the few breeders lack of interest to continue, and iffy egg-production.

It's a shame because they are critically endangered. The bantam variety seemed hardier but I wasn't interested in bantams.

Hello

and Welcome To BYC! He looks very similar to these http://feathersite.com/Poultry/CGK/OldPol/BRKOldPol.html

The Russian Crested Hen and the Posavina Crested Hen is not quite the same comb structure as the Poltava and Derbyshire Redcap. The RCH and PCH (and the Sulmtaler hens also) have a wiggly comb because the crest feathers get in the way of allowing the comb to stand upright so it kind of gets wavy. However the Poltava and Redcap have a wide thick cushion of a comb full of bumps and ridges with no backward crest feathers interfering with the lay of the comb.
