HI! i have duckies right now, but im adding some new chickies in spring!!! i want bantam silkies....

i was wondering what kind of shelters you guys use for your chickens, i only want about 4 or 5, so this is gonna be small... if any of you have some good coop ideas that you want to share that would be great!! pics would be nice too!! thanks!

DUCKGIRL89...

*First of all, do you want the ducks with the chickens?

*Second, do you want to breed them?

*Third, do you want a run? I would suggest having one.

*Fourth, do you want to breed the other chickens as well?

*Fifth, do you want your future turkeys to be near them?

There are LOTS of coop pictures on this site.

Is there small easy cheaper coops?

Hey There Duckgirl! First of all - 4 or 5 silkies? Ya - so build for 8!

They are quite adorable.... I made a coop from an old rabbit hutch and while it was quite a project, it was < $50 altogether. There are a lot of great ideas for coops here. Not all of them require perfect carpentry skills and thousands of dollars in materials.

If you've got the muscle and determination, you can build!

BTW: I don't let my chickens see most of the coops on here - they'd never forgive me!

At the very top of this page see "coop designs" - they are divided into small, med, & large - plenty for you to get ideas.
