Hello - Looking for hens in MN

Hi everyone,

We are looking for hens that need rehoming . We have a lonely chick right now and want to get him companiong asap. We are thinking Barred Rock, Ameraucana, Brahma. Mostly, friendly, good egg production and cold hardy.

We are in Minnesota.

Hmm. I don't think hens would get along with a chick. They would probably beat him up. You can't just put a chick in with older birds. Actually you should get a couple chicks to keep him company. I would assume your feed store or TSC would have them cheap.

Thanks for sharing that. It's good to know. When getting chicks from different places would you quarantine them from each other at first?

Depends on how old your current survivor is right now, but if they are that young I would say not to worry too much about the quarantining part.
