Hello, My life has gone to the chickens

We are first time chicken attendants and we adore our 4 ladies. Mabel, Hunny, Daisy and Willow. I've always been a law abiding citizen - and these girls have me thinking about installing a privacy fence. We can only have 4 hens, no roosters. But now I want 4 more hens. It's either we move or.......I'll be calling family for bail money.
Welcome to BYC! You'll love it here!

I noticed one of your chickens is named Mabel. Inspired by having chickens and BYC, I have written and illustrated two cartoon books (available on my website and on Barnes and Noble) called Mabel's World: Thinking Outside the Egg and Mabel's World 2, Living the Dream. I have shared all the cartoons on the following thread and thought you might enjoy them.

Mabel is a chicken who is always trying new things...

Welcome! This is a great place, you'll love it.

I'd go ahead and move. 😆 I wanted 6 hens. In July, we ordered 6 birds to arrive late September. The next weekend, the assorted bantam bin won me over, and we got 4 little tiny chicks. Over the next several weeks, I bought 2 more batches of 4 bantams. Then I bought 4 slightly older birds, and finally my "first" group of 6 arrived.

Then i bought 15 chicks...

Now, between a few losses and selling a few males, I'm currently chicken mama to 30 chicks between the ages of 1 week and 15 weeks. And I definitely have and love a few males.

So yeah... just accept that they own you now. 😅

In all seriousness though, we're happy to have you, and I wish you the best!
