I have chicks! Woo Hoo... Here are some pics...








I was going to get just 15 (originally I had planned for 12...for a dozen a day, so I read up, and increased that number to account for possible losses, and then for letting the girls have a day off! But I ended up with 17, because I knew I wanted Black Australorps (5), then I wanted a couple of Ameracauna/Aracaunas (2), then the local feedstore had 5 free chicks with 25 lb bag of feed ($7). I had been watching the chicks they had, knew what was coming in, and could tell what varieties that I ended up with...the goal being good egg production. So... that meant (5) golden sex links, and (5) White Leghorns. I will have a very colorful egg carton when the time comes!

They are cute, and adorable, and I have fun just watching them do their chicky things...funny.

Now I had better get busy and build their coop! (I have a brooder, "Peep Show", a grower house, "The Birdello", and then we need to build the coop, "The Chicken Ranch." Time's a ticking!
