I am a new member to this forum, not sure how often I will be on but I would like to have the opportunity to comment, ask questions, answer questions and inform people about my two favorite breeds of chickens. I have raised chickens as backyard pets for many years and really did not care what they were until this year. My duaghter will be graduating High School and I wanted to do something with my birds. I told my husband that I wanted to help a couple of breeds become better. I chose the Tolbunt Polish for its rare color and the fact I just love Polish chickens, and the other is the Russian Orloff due to coloration, rarity and the dual purpose of the breed. As far as I know I am only one of two people raising the Russian Orloff in Oregon and would like to see that number grow in the future. The Tolbunt Polish has several people raising them in Oregon and I want to be one of them, I just love those birds.

If you have not done so already, you may want to use the search bar above and type in "Polish" or "Orloff". From there you should find a lot of threads related to your favorite birds. Feel free to read the threads and join in as you like.
 
Hi Virginia, very nice to meet you. Glad you joined us at Backyard chickens. I think it would be a great idea, to join your state thread and also post on the Russian Orlorff
thread and also one for Tolbunt Polish. Hopefully you will meet others who seriously want to support these breeds.
