I have 2 Danish bantams they are 15 month sold and are my pets. They go outside during the day but come in at nite. They have no idea they ate different from the cats and dogs! Like I said they are both hens and have been laying eggs for a long time now. They have always got along. Their names ate Diddle and squat. Squat is my all girl lil hen and so sweet, but diddles build wise she looks more like a rooster but I have actually seen both lasso no confusion there. Diddles has always been the more aggressive but more protection of squat . But the nite before last they just started fighting really bad. Diddles attacks squat and gos right for her comb, causing squat to cry and run to me. We tryed separating the for. While but as soon as thy are together one of then attacks the other. Right out of the blue they were fine that morning but by nite they were fighting so bad I am concerned one will get hurt. Why would 2 hens just start fighting after being together for over a years? It's not over food. When I put them to bed t night thy have. Cage in my room that has a light but at nite I shut it off and cover the cage. If input them both in the cage and shut the light off nod cover the cage they leave each other alone but the second I turn the light on they attack like thy had no idea thy were sleeping together all nite???? Plz any help would be great?
