We're new to chicken life and 8 hens we bought around memorial day weekend. These were California whites and Barred Rocks. We've had good luck with them so we bought more!! The next set were only 6 and starlight olive eggers and isa Brown's. The littles are 14 weeks this week and the bigs are 23 weeks this week. The bigs have been laying since the middle of Sept.
So here's the problem...getting them together!
They've been in separated parts of the coop for probably at least six weeks and seen each other through hardware cloth. Then we in the last 2 weeks have put them together in the run with a divider between them with food and water on each side. I physically take the littles to their side each morning and back to their divided coop area each night. Now both groups are flying over the divider and then the little s are being chased up into the coop and aren't able to eat and drink the rest of the day. They are now sleeping together at night but the daytime is the problem time.
What can I do to get the littles so they can and will be able to eat.
