Hello! New chicken owner here!

This is my first time owning chickens, my parents and grandparents have for years but I figured its time to start my own! Picked up 2 Ameraucana's and 8 Buff Oprington's. They are a week old and I am slowly working on my coop in the mean time. I have started with a nice big Army Tac box with heat lamp, chicken starter, a patch of grass with some sandy soil for grit, and gave them some fresh spinach as a treat. I can't wait for eggs!!! I absolutely hate store bought after eating my family farm fresh eggs!!

Oh, and this is part of my steps towards a more self sufficient lifestyle! My plan will be to slowly work towards a farm then onto more animals and gardens!!!!

I agree shop eggs are just not the same. I am so spoiled with my hens' eggs I won't eat shop eggs any more.
