Hi All,

New to the forum -- just dropping in to say a quick hello! I live on an island in Belize (Central America) and currently have 1 hen, 1 young rooster, and 4 pullets that I got 2 months ago. I'm in it for the love of chickens as pets. My pullets were all hand-raised by a friend and are great to spend time with. Eggs are just an added bonus!

I look forward to being part of a new chicken community with you all :) Now I'm off to post a question about hatching chicks!

You know what... I'm not completely sure what type of chickens they are! They were sold to me as "Belizean chickens", which is slang to explain that they are mutts rather than purebreds. One looks like a naked neck, one looks a bit like a Rhode Island Red, and the other 2 pullets have fluffy tops on their heads (but not fluffy anywhere else like a silkie). Below is a picture of my rooster. I'll get some of the girls to share soon!
