Hello all!
I have been lurking on the forum for several weeks now and thought it was about time I introduced myself.
I have lots of questions to ask, but thought it would be polite to say HI first before bombarding everyone with questions.
So anyway; my name is Erin; my husband and I along with our seemingly ever-growing zoo of pets moved to the small town of Baldwin, MI almost exactly one year ago. We moved here from Phoenix, Arizona where I had lived my entire life. I always wanted to move to a small town and to a place where I had lots of land so that I could have my mini-farm so we made the big move last year and I have been loving it here so far. I had to pester my husband for months to get the go-ahead to get some chickens. Actually, I got tired of waiting for him to give in so I finally just told him I was going to go get the materials to start building a coop and he said OK
LOL
I'm just putting my finishing touches on my chicken coop this weekend. Aside from a little help from hubby on cutting some wood and holding parts/etc I'm proud to say that I built the thing all by myself! I'll have to post some pictures of it in the coop section and get everyone's input as to whether I overlooked something.
I'm so excited that my first chicks are due to be shipped out on Monday! I've been anxiously awaiting their arrival for weeks now. I've got the brooder all ready for them and I'm afraid I'm finding myself chicken obsessed already...and I don't even have one yet! LOL
I'm so glad that I found this forum, there is so much good information out there I've been spending hours lately reading up on everything!
