Hello, every one!
How's everyone doing during?
I finally decided to join this great forum. Everytime I googled a question regarding chickens this website always popped up. I figured "why not?" Plus, I also have a medical question for our Rooster, Rambo. I will ask in another thread.
I currently live in Tampa, FL. I am married and we have 2 girls, 6yr old and a 2yr old.
We purchased our flock about 3 months ago. We had 11 chicks!!! We first purchased 6 and when my husband went to Tractor Supply to purchase some chicken wire, they gave him 5 Rhode Island reds for free.
We had 3 Leghorns, 5 Rhode Island reds, 3 Welsummers. Out of the whole flock, we ended up with 1 rooster (Welsummer).
When the hens were old enough (about 8 weeks) and doing great, we rehomed 4 of them to a friend of ours. So now we have 6 hens and one beautiful rooster.
It's been an interesting 3 months. I had chickens as a kid and never thought I'd own any as an adult. Lol
